  1. Danna, I know from experience implementing an effective RTI program is a huge undertaking. It takes a lot of training and a lot of patience in its infancy. Teachers become so overwhelmed with documentation for RTI on top of their regular duties that they easily become frustrated. Be prepared for this.

As for your action plan itself, looks like a good plan. I'm a little concerned about ensuring curriculum is aligned with K-2 TEKS as step 8. I would think this needs to be one of your first priorities. Since your timeline is very general, this just may look like it is being done later than you really have it planned. IDK, just an observation.

Good luck in implementing your RTI strategies!

  2. One observation I have is your dates. I would see if you could try to narrow the dates a little more. Like, you'll probably do this first, in September, but closer to November you hope to be at this stage. It might help to block off a point to where we'll be taking that class #7 so you have a goal for that stage. Also, your May dates, you'll want to edit to say 2013.

I also noticed your step 8 mentioning to align the K-2 curriculum. You might move that to an earlier step. I like that you have included a look at the technology that are being implemented.

As far as RTI is concerned, you might want to try to develop one kind of standard form for documentation that teachers have to fill out at particular intervals. 3 weeks, 6 weeks, etc... It shouldn't be overly tedious for them.

    Good luck this year!
